Customize: 6. * Upload Logo * Title & Description * Background * Countdown * Social icons * Contact info * Email subscription 7. Save and activate ### 1. Does this work with any WordPress theme? Yes! It works with all themes including Astra, Divi, GeneratePress, Block Themes, etc. ### 2. Does it affect SEO? Both modes send a 503 (Service Unavailable) response with a `Retry-After` header, which tells search engines the downtime is temporary. You can change the status code with the `scsmm_status_code` filter. ### 3. Can I allow only certain people to access the site? Yes. You can allow: – Logged-in administrators – Selected IP addresses, IPv4, IPv6 and CIDR ranges (e.g. 203.0.113.0/24) ### 4. Does it block the REST API? Optional. Enable Block REST API in the Access tab to stop published content being read via `/wp-json/` for visitors while the mode is active. ### 5. Does the plugin collect or store any data? The plugin itself does not track users or collect analytics. If the Local email provider option is enabled, subscriber email addresses entered in the Coming Soon / Maintenance form are stored in the site’s WordPress database. This data is stored only on your website and is never sent to any third party. You can view, export (CSV) and delete subscribers under Standby Subscribers. All plugin data is removed when the plugin is deleted. ### 6. Will this slow down my website? Not at all — the plugin is extremely lightweight and optimized. ### 7. Does the plugin support video backgrounds? Yes. MP4 and WebM video backgrounds work in all three templates. The background image is used as the poster/fallback, and the video is not shown for visitors who prefer reduced motion. You can upload or select an MP4 video from the WordPress Media Library and use it as a background. For best performance, it is recommended to use optimized, short- length videos and avoid very large file sizes. ### 8. Can I whitelist IP addresses? Yes. You can add specific IP addresses to a whitelist. Service provided by Brevo: https://www.brevo.com/legal/termsofuse/ https://www.brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy/ ### 1.3 New * Subscribers screen (Standby Subscribers): view, export to CSV and delete locally stored subscribers. * Video backgrounds (MP4 / WebM) now work in all three templates, including Modern. * Background image is used as the video poster and fallback; video is skipped for visitors who prefer reduced motion. * Logo now displays in the Minimal template. * Mailchimp double opt-in option. * IP whitelist supports IPv6 and CIDR ranges (e.g. 203.0.113.0/24) and validates entries. * «Add my IP» button now adds your real IP address. * Optional «Trust proxy headers» setting for sites behind Cloudflare or a load balancer. * Optional «Block REST API» setting to hide public content from /wp-json/ while the mode is active (off by default).* Countdown shows a message when it reaches zero. * «Settings» link on the Plugins screen. * Redesigned admin settings page: new header with status badge, icon tabs, section cards, toggle switches, sticky Save bar and mobile-friendly layout. Fixed * Subscribe form did not work in the Minimal template. * Background color only worked in the Modern template; it now works in Classic and Minimal, and themes can no longer override it. * Color backgrounds were covered by a dark overlay; the overlay now only appears on image and video backgrounds. * Text automatically switches to dark on light background colors (Classic). * Honeypot spam protection was not active. * Countdown and auto-disable now use the site timezone and agree with each other. * The auto-disable request no longer shows the page one extra time. * Subscriptions are rejected when the subscribe form is turned off. * Duplicate emails no longer cause errors with Mailchimp or Brevo. * Brevo no longer sends an invalid list ID when none is set. * Logo file names used the wrong case, breaking the image on Linux servers. * Removed a broken background image reference in the Minimal stylesheet.* Admin bar notice is styled on every screen and shows the correct mode. * Modern template: countdown wraps on small screens, and image/video backgrounds now show on phones. * Settings-saved notice no longer appears inside the page header. Security * All settings are validated and whitelisted on save; unknown values are discarded. * API keys are masked, never printed back into the page, and can be removed with a checkbox. * Subscribe messages are displayed as plain text. * Rate limiting uses a fixed window and the correct visitor IP. * Subscribers are stored without autoload and capped at 5,000 (filterable). * Uninstall now also removes rate-limit transients and supports multisite.
