Colaborar

StickyAdmin started as a simple project about two years ago and recently I came to the conclusion that it’d be impossible for only one individual to get it done the right way, so hereby I request everyone’s help to get involved in developing a better yet compatbile interface for the admin side of WordPress.

Developers of all levels can help!

Like WordPress itself, StickyAdmin is and will remain open-source. You can test planned improvements, check out the code, file and view bug reports, and even submit your own patches. The community’s contributions are what make WordPress and StickyAdmin so strong.

Most software projects, including WordPress, use a version-control system to keep track of source code and revisions.

StickyAdmin is available on GitHub, all development process happens over here:

Is StickyAdmin ready for production?

Not yet.

What is failsafe mode?

Some installs may interfere with Sticky (something we don’t want) and this way the plugin triggers it’s failsafe mode which still gets the interface replaced no matter if there are JS or server errors in the stack. Logs can help us develpers figure what is conflicting.

This plugins does have a lot of bugs, but there doesn't seem to be any security concerns that I can tell from checking the code and javascripts. The problem is, as often as WP changes the admin methods, CSS, and javascripts that one guy (this awesome developer) will not be able to keep up with the chase of new changes. This project needs many more people working on it for it to be effective and as of the moment many things are just... missing. Such as the live Appearance editor, completely broken which was the no-go and uninstall point for me.

Very nice looking, but not quite as easy to manage as the description leads you to believe.

StickyAdmin is beautifully done and I think it has potential to be a staple for a lot of people's installations once some of the bugs and issues get worked out. I would love to use it myself but some basic things are not working. For instance, when you want to change the logo in StickyAdmin and use the media library selector, there is no way to 'accept' or use that image button (only a trash icon). I haven't done any testing beyond that yet, but i will be watching this plugin evolve...it is really beautiful and has a ton of potential. Keep at it!

Love the plugin but at the moment unable to use it on my site as there seems to be crashes with Divi and the Elegant Themes code. It defaults to a "FAILSAFE" mode, which then works well but in the few seconds before that it doesn't work at all. Any way we could get a setting to enable the FAILSAFE mode by default if that is going to work? If I can help testing with Divi at all let me know! I'm running WP 4.4.1 on PHP 7.0, thanks for all your hard work!
