    Hi everyone,

We’re currently reviewing the best way to build our own WooCommerce store and would love to hear insights from the community.

Right now, we’re using WoodMart, but we’ve been facing serious performance and stability issues — pages load slowly, the site sometimes becomes unstable, and overall performance is far from optimal.

    Our main goals are:

    • A site that loads in under 3 seconds
    • Stable and secure performance
    • Clean, lightweight structure (avoiding unnecessary bloat from visual builders)

We’re considering switching to Astra as a base theme and developing the front-end with custom code (HTML, CSS, JS, and minimal PHP templates), avoiding heavy page builders like Elementor.

I’d love to get your thoughts on:

    1. Is Astra a good base for a custom-coded WooCommerce site focused on performance?
    2. Would it be better to start from a minimal custom theme (like Sage or Underscores) instead?
    3. Any key recommendations or proven setups to achieve sub-3-second load times consistently?

Any advice, personal experience, or reference setups would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to everyone who shares their insights!
