Amelia Booking Plugin is fundamentally broken for service businesses, and their support is a masterclass in incompetence and dishonesty. Core Features Are Bugged & Denied Until Proven Otherwise:The plugin has a critical, business-breaking bug: Customer Custom Fields do not persist for package appointments. For my driving school, this meant students could not provide their home address for pickup beyond the first lesson—rendering the package system useless. For weeks, support insisted this was “expected behavior” and that the feature “did not exist.” Only after I discovered the exact setting myself did they admit it was a bug. This is a failure of a core function for any business selling multi-session packages. Support Provides Contradictory, Unhelpful, and Slow Responses:The communication was a gauntlet of misinformation. I was told a feature didn’t exist, then that it was “expected behavior,” then finally that it was a known bug—all by the same team. After a refund due to this broken workflow, I faced new issues: contradictory statements about my license access and complete silence for days on simple questions. Final Proof of Incompetence: The Nikola Pricing Fiasco.After deciding to return, I asked if my previous price could be honored. Support agent Nikola took 4 days to respond, then provided incorrect pricing information, falsely claimed a “holiday” delay after having just responded days earlier, and did not read my message where I clearly outlined the pricing issue. When called out, his final response was a dismissive non-answer that ignored the goodwill request entirely. This is not a mistake—it’s a pattern of negligence, poor reading comprehension, and disrespect for a returning customer’s time. A Complete Disregard for Service-Based Business Needs:The team demonstrates no understanding of how service businesses operate. Their stance is, “This is how it works, sorry it breaks your model.” When a critical bug that destroys a standard workflow has no fix timeline, you are not selling a product—you are selling liability. Conclusion:Do not trust this plugin for any business that relies on package bookings, customer-specific data, or dependable operations. The software contains critical bugs, and the support team—exemplified by Nikola—will waste your time, provide incorrect information, and show zero competence or urgency. Using Amelia isn’t a choice—it’s an operational risk that will sabotage your business and customer trust. Invest in a platform that works and a team that cares.

Amelia is a powerful and professional booking tool with a great ui. However, I struggled to implement specific functionality because the documentation isnt clear enough about the available attributes. Support is helpful and pointed me in the right direction. Its a great plugin, but it needs better developer documentation.

Amelia has been a good experience so far, I have been using it for more than 6 months now ! Here are the good points : google calendar sync (works fine) payment systems (easy to setup) it is easy to add collaborators/services The notifications system is very convenient Here are the points which needs to be improved and the lasts updates are already going in the right direction imo : Backend UI is not always intuitive specially the way some buttons are implemented It lacks some flexibility for solopreneurs, specially if you need to manage your calendar day to day widget UX customization is too limited if you don’t know how to use CSS

Amelia has been a solid booking solution for our business. The interface is clean, the booking flow makes sense for customers, and the support team has been responsive and helpful when we’ve had questions. Overall, a well built plugin that’s easy to work with and easy for customers to use.

I am a web developer and at the same time a beauty salon administrator. We have been using this module for more than 2 years and we recommend it. There are various external sites on the market that offer scheduling systems at low costs…but none of them compare to the complexity of the Amelia module.Again, you have a benefit when the scheduling is done on your own site and not on an external site. You can track conversions, edit the module, etc… Any small issue I had, the support team was prompt and solved any problem.

I have been using Amelia for a while now on my own website and I am amazed how easy it is to set up and use. The ability to customize the design without any css is also a huge advantage for me. When I teach WordPress, I recommend Amelia for students who wants a booking plugin.
