AnswerHawk – AI Email Support by WizeHawk

Descripción

AnswerHawk is a self-hosted WordPress support inbox designed to reduce repetitive customer-support work.

It connects directly to a support mailbox through IMAP and SMTP, keeps support tickets inside WordPress, checks a reusable local Answer Library before using AI, filters obvious automated/test mail locally, and can draft replies with the WordPress AI Client when the site owner enables AI.

AnswerHawk Free includes:

  • Direct IMAP inbox synchronization and SMTP replies.
  • A WordPress support inbox with ticket statuses and conversation history.
  • Local noise filtering before AI.
  • A reusable Answer Library with no paid item cap.
  • Manual Answer Library entries.
  • Documentation import without an AI call.
  • Review-mode AI drafts through the WordPress AI Client.
  • Conservative escalation rules for higher-risk requests.
  • No required AnswerHawk cloud account.

The optional AnswerHawk Pro add-on is a separate plugin that runs alongside the Free core. It adds automatic learning from approved replies, Trusted mode, Autopilot mode, and an Advanced Remote Connector. The paid implementation is not bundled inside the WordPress.org plugin.

External services and data transmission

AnswerHawk does not require an AnswerHawk-hosted cloud service.

Mail: When you configure SMTP and IMAP, AnswerHawk connects to the mail servers you enter. Customer email addresses, message content, and replies are transmitted to or from those mail servers as required for normal email operation. The mail provider is chosen and configured by the site owner.

AI: AI is optional. If AI support is enabled, AnswerHawk uses the WordPress AI Client (wp_ai_client_prompt()). WordPress routes prompts to the AI provider and model configured by the site owner under Settings > Connectors. A prompt may contain the customer’s support message, relevant conversation history, and relevant support knowledge so the provider can draft a reply. AnswerHawk does not choose or store the AI provider’s API credentials. Review the terms and privacy policy of the provider you choose before enabling AI.

WizeHawk links: The plugin includes links to the public AnswerHawk product, documentation, and contact pages. Visiting those links is optional and happens only when an administrator clicks them:

Privacy

AnswerHawk is designed to keep its support database on the WordPress site. It does not require a WizeHawk cloud account.

If SMTP/IMAP is configured, email data necessarily travels between the WordPress site and the mail servers chosen by the site owner.

If AI support is enabled, support content needed to generate a draft may be sent through the WordPress AI Client to the AI provider configured by the site owner. The site owner is responsible for reviewing the selected provider’s terms, privacy policy, and data-handling settings.

Instalación

  1. Upload and activate AnswerHawk.
  2. Configure your support mailbox under AnswerHawk > Settings.
  3. Configure an AI provider under Settings > Connectors if you want AI-assisted drafting.
  4. Build the Answer Library manually or by importing documentation.
  5. Keep Review mode enabled while testing. AnswerHawk Free never auto-sends AI replies.

FAQ

Does AnswerHawk require AI?

No. Mail handling, the support inbox, local noise filtering, manual replies, documentation import, and Answer Library matches can work without an AI provider. AI is used only for drafting new answers when you enable it.

Does the Free version automatically send AI replies?

No. AnswerHawk Free uses Review mode. AI-generated drafts remain for a human to review and send.

Is the Answer Library limited in the Free plugin?

No. The WordPress.org plugin does not impose a paid item quota on Answer Library entries. You can add or import as many reusable answers as your site can reasonably store and manage.

What is stored on my WordPress site?

AnswerHawk stores its support tickets, conversation data, settings, and Answer Library in the site’s WordPress database. Mail credentials are stored using AnswerHawk’s protected secret-storage mechanism.

What data can be sent to an AI provider?

Only when AI support is enabled, AnswerHawk may send the customer support message, relevant conversation history, and relevant support knowledge through the WordPress AI Client to the provider selected by the site owner.

What does the optional Pro add-on add?

AnswerHawk Pro is a separate add-on plugin. It adds automatic learning from approved replies, Trusted mode, Autopilot mode, and the Advanced Remote Connector. Those paid feature implementations are contained in the separate Pro add-on, not in this WordPress.org plugin.

How do I upgrade to AnswerHawk Pro?

  1. Leave AnswerHawk Free installed and active.
  2. In WordPress, open AnswerHawk > Upgrade, or visit the AnswerHawk page on WizeHawk.
  3. Choose the Pro license for the number of sites you need and complete checkout.
  4. Download the AnswerHawk Pro ZIP file.
  5. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add Plugin > Upload Plugin.
  6. Choose the AnswerHawk Pro ZIP file and click Install Now.
  7. Click Activate Plugin.
  8. If WordPress asks you to activate or sync your Pro license, follow that screen.
  9. Keep both AnswerHawk Free and AnswerHawk Pro active.

If Pro is later deactivated, AnswerHawk falls back to Free Review mode. Tickets, mail settings, and Answer Library data remain in the Free core.

Does deactivating AnswerHawk delete support data?

No. Deactivation does not remove AnswerHawk’s stored support data or settings.
