Accessibility by UserWay

Nuestro enfoque: empezar poco a poco, paso a paso

UPDATE: I'm downgrading my review from five stars to four. The widget works well, but setup instructions are poor and support is virtually nonexistent. For the frustrated: After installing the plugin and registering on your dashboard, go to any other page on your site and look for the new blue icon in the upper right corner. Click to open it and adjust the settings to your taste from the Manage link, which will require you to create a password. Another tip: Create your accessibility statement on a new page on your site (copy and modify the one on UserWay's own site; it's exactly what they will send you if you ask for a template), then point to it from your UserWay panel. You can adjust the exact location of the corner icon using CSS, but styling the hover color or size is pretty much impossible, as they in-lined the style in the HTML with the !important rule. Otherwise the widget looks professional, works as advertised and seems pretty lightweight on resources so far. My only beef is that your new Accessibility Statement page opens in a new tab, which is poor practice, and I can't find a way do remove the target="_blank". Overall, for what you're paying and what you're getting, this is a decent plugin. The reason I downgraded my review is that I asked UserWay a question on their website, specifically about the accessibility statement opening in a new tab. They responded the following morning with a canned answer on how to create the accessibility statement page, which I had already done. Software is only as good as it performs and the support behind it, and there appears to be no support for this otherwise promising plugin.

DO NOT INSTALL MANUALLY into wordpress. I was able to install and uninstall via the plugin menu, but it did not remove the manually - installed code. The code is gone from footer.php where I pasted their script. When I asked Userway, they HID the widget, rather than allowing me to uninstall. On the DIVI editor, the widget is visible but when I click "manage" I get a message that it's not installed properly, account ID is missing. One star for documentation, three stars for function - it's better than nothing.

I was using the One Click Accessibility plug-in which is an excellent plug-in but doesn't have a screen reader. Userway does have a screen reader. Userway is also a one-click install and an excellent service. Unlike some of the reviews which say it's not free, that's not true. It is 100% free. They just offer additional options for $10 a month such as white labeling and inserting your own logo. It does have a donate button but so what. It's a very worthy cause if someone wants to donate but they don't have to. I am using Userway on several websites. I'm a personal injury lawyer and do litigation for a living. I was very concerned about getting sued. I was very happy to find a plug-in with a screen reader.

Free version works well if needed. Currently tracking its usage and may remove though. When using, the plugin causes reporting to decrease by 7 points – it is flagged "Does not use passive listeners to improve scrolling performance"

I'm using UserWay on several dozen websites. The UserWay plugin is 100% legit and is FREE to use. If you want to use your brand/company name instead of UserWay INSIDE the display of the tool, they charge $10/month for a signle site. Again, there is NO COST to use all of the features in the plugin. Only if you want your name on it is their any cost.

I was trying to figure out why there weren't more reviews for this widget - especially after I started using it! I'm guessing that it's because most of us (even those of us with WP sites) grab the script directly from the UserWay website and just add it into the website header. Most of us are not coming on here to get it. The overall design and the functionality of the UserWay widget are GREAT. It allows several different options and combinations, and they all work well. You also get to choose your icon, icon size, and customize the color and placement... That’s pretty freaking good. Anyway, I don't see how people think they're being tricked. The free version works perfectly - exactly the same as the paid version. The only difference is you have the UserWay logo and a donation link that allows people to donate to the developers. I think that's pretty reasonable. I use the free version for my nonprofit clients and the paid version for doctors, etc. Definitely recommend.
